Standalone pilot enrollment uses a waiting list with team follow-up. Sensor-dependent capabilities require a suitable installation. Confirm your installation and subscription scope in your quote. Recurring working-hour patterns create shifts; desk assignments can be authored or copied separately. Managers set required coverage, review assignments and publish the schedule. Traffic does not automatically set headcounts. Scheduled coverage and recorded time worked are distinct measurements. Configured employment-hour and break limits produce advisory warnings. Specific assignment conflicts, such as overlapping assignments or assignments outside a working shift, have separate checks. Changing ordinary availability does not automatically remove existing shifts or assignments. ## Product capabilities | Capability | What it does | | --- | --- | | People Counting & Spaces | Compare anonymous visits, occupancy and pass-by traffic across spaces and time, with supported staff exclusion, adult/child estimates and turnaround filtering. | | Event Intelligence | Import a public calendar, record attendance by mobile hand count, after-event entry or sensor estimate, compare occurrences and branches, and review future attendance ranges. | | Staff Scheduling | Reuse recurring hours and rotations; plan desk coverage, skills, availability and breaks; manage leave and PTO policies and balances; publish schedules and review staffing reports. | | Work Items | Manage recurring checks and phone or desktop reports with photos, location, owner, priority, due date and comments. Reviewed: 2026-10-12 Source: https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#people-counting Measure entries, exits and visits at entrances, or occupancy in rooms and defined areas with suitable sensors. Explore traffic at different intervals, hour-of-day and day-of-week comparisons, and seasonal changes. Current, average and maximum occupancy describe use of the measured space; they are different from a total of visits over a period. Compare entrances, rooms and branches over consistent periods to inform opening hours, service coverage, space layout and resource discussions. When opening periods differ, account for them before comparing raw totals. Counts provide evidence for a decision; a change in visits alone does not establish its cause. Supported sensors provide aggregate adult/child estimates. Turnaround and repeated-movement filtering reduces unwanted movement counts at the counting line. These measurements do not identify returning patrons or count unique people. Exclude staff movements from visitor totals using Bluetooth fobs or specialty lanyards with black-and-white or red-and-white stripes. Staff exclusion requires a compatible sensor setup. Pass-by counting measures people walking past an establishment without stopping. Compare passing traffic with visits inside while keeping the two measurements distinct. This requires suitable sensor coverage of the area being measured. People counting is anonymous: no recorded video, stored images, captured faces or tracked identities. This applies to counting data; staff records, contact forms and photographs deliberately attached to Work Items have a different purpose and privacy scope. ## Buyer questions ### Can we compare busy times and different spaces? Yes. Review visit and occupancy patterns at different intervals, and compare entrances, rooms or branches over matching periods. The available measurements depend on the sensors and area covered. Visits over time and occupancy of a space are different measures. Details: [People counting & space use](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#people-counting) ### Does filtering repeated movement identify returning visitors? No. Turnaround and repeated-movement filtering operates at the counting line. It does not recognize a returning patron or establish unique visitors. Adult/child figures are aggregate estimates from supported sensors, not personal profiles. Details: [People counting & space use](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#people-counting) ### Can we exclude staff from visitor counts? Yes. With a compatible sensor setup, staff can use Bluetooth fobs or specialty lanyards with black-and-white or red-and-white stripes to keep their movements out of visitor totals. Details: [People counting & space use](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#people-counting) ### Can we count people who pass by without stopping? Yes. With suitable sensor coverage, pass-by counting measures people walking past your establishment without stopping. Passing traffic is a separate measurement from visits inside. Details: [People counting & space use](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#people-counting) ## Further reading - [People counting and occupancy](https://facilitysight.io/insights/real-time-occupancy) - [FacilitySight for libraries](https://facilitysight.io/libraries/people-counting) - [Sensor options](https://facilitysight.io/sensors) --- # Staff Scheduling, skills & PTO Plan the working week, manage leave and give staff a clear view of their schedule. Reviewed: 2026-10-12 Source: https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#staff-scheduling Staff Scheduling works independently of people counting. Organize staff, part-time colleagues and volunteers by group and branch, including people without a login. Reuse regular working hours and one-, two- or four-week rotations, generate shifts from those patterns, or copy an authored day or week before making adjustments. Plan desks, other duties and breaks across the day and week. Set the people each desk needs for each time window and see the exact uncovered intervals. Record qualifications by desk and branch; suggested coverage presents qualified colleagues and separately labelled experience-based candidates with availability and workload context. A manager reviews and saves the assignment. Keep normal working hours separate from availability, including dated extra availability. Review contracted hours, scheduled totals and desk-hour targets. Configured employment-hour and break limits advise the planner; overlapping assignments and assignments outside a shift have separate checks. Ordinary availability edits do not remove existing assignments. Prepare changes in a draft and publish the schedule staff will see. Undo recent edits or discard unpublished changes. Staff can see their published schedule, request leave, review PTO balances and history, and edit availability where enabled. Import people and shifts with a preview, print published schedules or subscribe to a read-only personal calendar feed. Staffing reports show scheduled hours by person, assignment point, employment type and group, alongside desk-hour targets, distribution and coverage. Scheduled intervals describe the plan; they do not establish staff attendance or time actually worked. ## Buyer questions ### How do skills help fill a coverage gap? Record current qualifications for each desk and branch, then review suggested colleagues with their availability and workload. Qualified and experience-based suggestions are distinguished. A manager reviews and saves the assignment; a missing qualification record does not prove someone lacks the skill. Details: [Staff Scheduling, skills & PTO](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#staff-scheduling) ### Does a pending PTO request reduce the balance? No. Pending requests do not reserve hours. Approval records the leave debit, and eligible withdrawal records a refund. Policies, opening balances, accrual or grants, adjustments and leave movements explain the account balance. Details: [Staff Scheduling, skills & PTO](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#staff-scheduling) ### Is scheduled coverage the same as time worked? No. Coverage compares scheduled assignments with the requirement set by the manager. Time entries record clock-ins and clock-outs for worked-time comparison and correction review. A roster does not prove presence at a desk. Details: [Staff Scheduling, skills & PTO](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#staff-scheduling) ## Leave requests, PTO policies and balances Manage full- and partial-day time off with requests, approvals, rejection, withdrawal and history. Configure fixed-cycle accrual, a percentage of annual entitlement or an upfront annual grant. Carryover can retain none, a capped amount or all unused hours, with effective-dated policies. Set opening balances and explicit adjustments, and follow accrual, grants, approved leave, eligible refunds and forfeiture in the account history and reconciliation report. Pending requests do not reserve hours; approval records the debit. Percentage accrual uses annual entitlement, not measured worked hours. Approved time off can affect the schedule and reveal coverage to replace. Withdrawing that leave does not restore removed assignments. Managers review the affected plan. ## Time clock tracking and schedule drafts Time clock tracking covers clock-ins and clock-outs on a phone or desktop, subject to organization settings, or at a shared PIN kiosk. Managers review missed punches and employee correction requests with reasons and change history. Compare recorded time worked with scheduled hours; a missing clock-out does not invent a departure time. Smarter schedule drafts place people into unpublished assignments using reusable patterns, familiar assignments and fair distribution of desk time. Keep manual placements and unfilled slots visible, review changes and undo a run when needed. Managers can adjust the draft themselves or inspect and confirm proposed changes from Ask FacilitySight before applying them. Publication remains a manager action; visitor traffic does not set staffing requirements. Background duties such as Phone or Shelving can accompany a primary Reference desk assignment, adding responsibility and coverage context without double-counting scheduled hours. ## Further reading - [Explore Staff Scheduling](https://facilitysight.io/insights/staffing) - [Staff scheduling for libraries](https://facilitysight.io/libraries/staff-scheduling) - [Library scheduling guide](https://facilitysight.io/resources/library-staff-scheduling-guide) - [Join the software pilot waiting list](https://facilitysight.io/next-pilot) --- # Work Items & incident follow-through Keep recurring checks and reported problems moving from a clear owner to recorded resolution. Reviewed: 2026-10-12 Source: https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#work-items Work Items works independently of counting hardware. Set recurring schedules with frequencies and checklists, generate the work to carry out, and retain checklist outcomes. Routine room checks and equipment checks can have clear responsibility and due dates alongside issues reported during the day. Staff can report from a phone or desktop with a location or space, description and photo. Optional public reporting and printable QR codes provide another intake path when enabled. Reports can also enter through an API; confirm any specific connection with the team. Give each item an owner, priority and due date. Keep comments, photos and progress with the record. Blocked work remains visible with context, such as waiting for a replacement part. Record resolution notes and reopen the item if the problem returns, retaining its previous history. Staff incident reports are a useful starting point in their own right. Configured Safety and environmental alerts can connect to Work Items with their source, location and time, then support ownership, notes and recorded resolution. The organization chooses the connection and people manage the follow-through. ## Buyer questions ### Can Work Items help without people counters? Yes. Recurring checks, staff reports, photos, assignment, blocked work and resolution history are useful without counting hardware. Staff Scheduling and Work Items can be purchased on their own, or both are included with people counting at no additional fee. Details: [Work Items & incident follow-through](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#work-items) ### Can visitors report an issue through a QR code? Optional public reporting and printable QR codes provide an intake path when enabled. Staff can also report from a phone or desktop with a location and photo. Confirm the reporting setup for your organization. Details: [Work Items & incident follow-through](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#work-items) ### What happens when work is blocked or a fault returns? Blocked work stays visible with its owner and progress context. Resolution records what was done. If the fault returns, reopen the item and retain the earlier notes and history. Details: [Work Items & incident follow-through](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#work-items) ## Coordinate disruptive work with the calendar A work item’s planned start and end describe when it will happen, separately from its due date. Month, Week and Agenda views place those work windows beside event occurrences and closures, with location and space context. Mark work that disrupts a space and review warnings when it overlaps an event or other disruptive work in that space. For example, a carpet clean and a craft fair may need the same room that morning. Warnings inform a manager’s decision; they do not prevent a save, book a room or automatically reschedule an event. ## Work streams, review and operational reporting Configure work streams, categories and waiting reasons for maintenance, technology and other operational teams. An optional supervisor review step supports work that needs sign-off before resolution. Keep responsibility and progress understandable across different kinds of work. Review resolution time, reopened items, blocked time by reason and recurring-work completion to understand where work stalls. Reporting respects work-stream and location scope. Notifications for assignment, resolution, blocked or reopened work, review and overdue schedules follow access scope and recipient preferences. ## Further reading - [Explore Work Items](https://facilitysight.io/insights/work-items) - [Safety and incident awareness](https://facilitysight.io/insights/safety-incident-awareness) - [Join the software pilot waiting list](https://facilitysight.io/next-pilot) --- # Events, reports & planning Understand participation, explain activity and prepare for the next working day. Manual attendance works in unmonitored rooms; sensor estimates require suitable coverage and configuration. Compare occurrences of the same event over time or across branches in the same organization, and review participation, event/space comparisons and supported aggregate adult/child estimates. Keep recorded counts distinct from estimates. Attendance per occurrence helps when branches offered different numbers of sessions. Forecasts use historical activity, day-of-week patterns, trend and seasonality to show a planning range. Future event attendance ranges help teams prepare the next session. Keep visits, arrivals, occupancy and event attendance distinct; forecasts inform a human decision and do not promise an outcome. Build reports with weekly, extended and calendar heatmaps, tables, pies or donuts, and time-series charts. Compose several reports into one frame, add annotations and configure scheduled delivery. Annotations remain with composed frames and delivered reports, and report visibility follows access rights. A monthly review can bring together visit patterns, space use, program participation and the director’s explanation of changed hours or a closure. Use the report appropriate to each supported source. Several reports in one frame do not imply every measure can be combined in every chart. Environmental monitoring adds temperature, humidity, air quality and other measurements from suitable installed sensors. Configure thresholds, notifications and Work Item creation for follow-through. Prism brings member organizations and facilities together for oversight across locations. ## Buyer questions ### Do all program rooms need sensors to record attendance? No. Use live mobile hand counting or enter attendance after the event. Sensor-derived estimates are a separate method that requires appropriate coverage and configuration. Comparisons should distinguish recorded attendance from estimates. Details: [Events, reports & planning](https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#insights) ### Can reports include our explanation and be delivered on a schedule? Yes. Reviewed: 2026-10-12 Source: https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#privacy FacilitySight describes its people-counting experience as anonymous: no recorded video, stored images, captured faces or tracked identities. This describes people-counting data; it does not mean that no personal information is processed anywhere in the service. Contact and quote forms collect the details you choose to provide so the team can respond. Optional entrance photos are sent as smaller copies with your quote request. Staffing and account workflows involve information about the people using the service. Use the privacy policy for collection, use, retention, sharing and individual-rights information. Request deployment-specific retention, hosting, access-control and contractual details when evaluating your organization’s requirements. ## Buyer questions ### Does people counting record video or identify visitors? FacilitySight describes people-counting as anonymous: it does not record video, store images, capture faces or track identities. That statement applies to people-counting data; contact, staffing and account workflows can involve personal information. See the privacy policy and request deployment-specific details for your review. Reviewed: 2026-10-12 Source: https://facilitysight.io/product-reference#getting-started Book a 30-minute demo using the Google Calendar booking link, or suggest two meeting times through the walkthrough request form. A walkthrough request is followed up by email; it is not a confirmed appointment. For standalone Staff Scheduling and Work Items, join the FacilitySight Next pilot waiting list. The team follows up with details and next steps; joining does not create an account or provide instant access. Pilot partners receive both free for the first year, then pay $120/year, one flat rate for the whole organization that stays locked in for pilot partners. Both products are included with people counting at no additional fee. A quote requires your name, organization and email. Goals, approximate building and entrance counts, interior spaces, environmental interests, purchasing group and up to four entrance photos are optional. For member pricing, choose your consortium or association on the pricing page to prefill its name in the contact form, or select Member Pricing directly. Share your first and last name, email, group name and question. Your organization is optional; the team follows up with offer details. To request special discounts for another consortium, association or group, select Suggest a Group for Member Discounts. Share your first and last name, email, group name and a description of its members. Your organization and state or region are optional. This requests consideration; submitting does not approve a discount. After an accepted request, the form shows a confirmation. If an error appears, the entered details remain available to review and retry. Sending a request contacts the FacilitySight team; review the details before submitting on someone’s behalf. The online forms use JavaScript. You can also email hello@facilitysight.io. A quote request starts a conversation about pricing and configuration; it does not place an order. ## Buyer questions ### What do I need to request a quote?
